Hard working Boston-based quartet with a well honed pop sensibility (pop meaning; Big Star, The Posies, XTC, The Get Up Kids, The Promise Ring, Hot Rod Circuit, and The Juliana Theory).
In support of their new LP, 'Coup de Grace' (to be released December 2004) -mixed by Scott Reibling (Kay Hanley, Letters to Cleo), Labb looks forward to touring once again. A much anticpated follow up to their moderatly successful 2002 EP, 'Driving Your Shadow' released on OTR, Produced by Jimmy R. Landry (Winefield, TWF, MotorSkills) and Dale Penner (Nickleback), 'Coup de Grace' has been Labb's most involved project yet. Labb has been selling thousands of CD's from Boston to Iceland and Japan and has been featured on the Travel Channel, Fox 25 News and hundreds of college and commercial radio stations. 'Driving your shadow' was also licensed to episodes of MTV's "Fraternity Life" and "Sorority Life."
A typical Labb show is an energetic, sweaty and sometimes beer soaked affair...people singing, laughing and meeting other people...Sometimes serious but always fun...yeah, that's Labb.

The Noise-Rock Around Boston
"The new record is more mature, but still has a concise, almost matter of fact feel. The band's trademark pop hooks remain. What also remains are great lyrics that engulf melodic guitar lines, played ever so eloquently by John Sares and the namesake of the band, Dana Labb. A driving four on the floor rhythm section, by way of The Stoops and Todd McLellan cements the bands power pop and indie-rock stylings."
Brookline Community Center for the Arts - 5/14/04. Labb's set is highly anticipated. It's been a while since they have played a show. (Their last one was a couple of months back at T.T.'s). Dana, guitarist/singer and John, lead guitar, have recently added Todd McLennan on drums (Tricycle) and Stoops on bass (Tricycle/ Memory Effect). Dana announces that they have only had a few rehearsals, but it sure doesn't sound like it. I have seen this band several times and I dare say that this is their best line up. They plow through a mix of tunes from Driving in your Shadow and the new CD, due out in December. From what I hear, it's to be called Coup de Grace. Dana is in fine form doing his hop/skip dance that always engages. His voice is in fine form, too. John seems more comfortable with the new guys. He's in his element behind the cozy confines of his Marshall. The double guitar attack of Dana and John keep the identity of the band in full effect. The stage presence of the band as a whole is what makes this band so great. The songs are catchy, too. Out of the new ones, I think I like "Say Anything Summer" the best. By the middle of the set I have forgotten all about the '80s music provided by some guy with an "I love Boston" T-shirt, played between sets. Thank you, Labb.
