Ian Thornton Band (ITB) is a power-acoustic trio based in Belgrade, Serbia. The EP “Infinity” is their second offering of original material, and like their debut, “The Meaning”, showcases a range of writing and playing styles.
The opening track “Real Love” is a gentle, reggae-style ballad with voice and guitar taking it in turns to chase the melody. “Infinity” is a modern-day Romeo and Juliet saga, bringing the full power-acoustic sound to bear, with typical dramatic shifts in the dynamics. “Aunt Elaine”, a darker twist on family betrayal, shifts back to a studio emphasis, with atmospheric guitar and piano taking centre stage. The closing track “Here to stay”, brings back the band for an energized and catchy finale.
The EP was recorded at Hill River and Welljam studios in Belgrade and was produced by Velja Mijanovic. Several tracks have already received significant airplay in Serbia, and “Infinity” was top of the local charts for several weeks. The band have just finished recording their first full/length CD, which is due for commercial release in Europe late in 2008. So…stay tuned!!!
