Darlene Smith Jackson is a born again Christian who lives the life she sings about. She is a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Portsmouth, Va where Dr. William S. Hampton is the pastor. She is a very active member in her church and is a member of The Voices Of Calvary, The Creative Arts Ministry, The Pastor''s Aid Ministry, and The Ministry of Membership and Evangelism. She Is also a member of The Radio Choir from WPCE (a christian radio station based in Norfolk, Va.) Being a member of the radio choir gave her the opportunity to sing with Reverend Timothy Wright and Dorothy Norwood and the Caravans in March 2008 at The Garden of Prayer where Bishop L.E. Willis is the pastor.
Darlene started writting songs in elementary school. She has also ministered in music for several groups and organizations and has won several songwriting awards.
In addition to writting all of the songs on her CD, she does all of her background singing, plays the music, mixes and arranges all of the music. She gives God all the glory. She knows that she can do nothing on her own, but she can do all things through Christ who strenghtens her each and every day. It is her prayer that everyone who listens to the songs that God has allowed her to write be a blessing to everyone who listens. Darlene wants her music to go into all the world telling men, women, boys, and girls about the goodness of Jesus and that he is the light of the world.
