MP3 John Earl - Don't You Dare Forget
As a singer songwriter, John Earl reconciles thoughts and ideas that many people would never think belong together. He does the same as a musician. Vocally, he takes elements from R&B and Country. On the guitar, he blends Rock with a bit of Bluegrass.

John is one of the most unique people you will ever meet. I saw him once playing acoustic guitar next to the cathedral in the French Quarter of New Orleans. He was completely out of place but somehow completely comfortable, projecting his lyrics for blocks around with a baritone voice that sounded completely alien to the streets of Louisiana. Tourists were walking by, some were snapping pictures of him, others just stopped to listen and maybe tip him. He wasn''t like any street musician I''d ever seen before playing covers songs to maybe make a few dollars, he was simply himself and the environment couldn''t change him.
When I finally got to talk in depth with him I was amazed. It was obvious from his lyrics that he was a deep and intelligent thinker, but as I slowly extracted the list of accomplishments from him I realized there was something more going on. He double majored at the Air Force Academy in physics and math. He got a masters degree in Nuclear Engineering, and had a PhD scholarship offer to M.I.T. He''d been a leader in every phase of his life, finally coming to New Orleans to work as an analyst for one of the biggest corporations in the world. So why sit out on the streets of New Orleans in the hot sun and sing?
His answer in a nutshell, is that he has to share what he''s been given. Everywhere he goes he sees people who are disconnected from other people and ideas, and he knows they are missing out because the same rifts were hurdles on his own path to success. Racial and religious diversity to him is just the tip of the iceberg. He even thinks that CEOs can learn from crack addicts, and that pastors can learn from porn stars. He fully believes that when all these rifts in society are healed the world will enter a new renaissance, and he just wants to play his part, whatever that might be. He never felt a need to quote a verse or any philosopher, even though it was obvious he''d read from them all. He just knew it.
I can tell that this CD is just the beginning for him, and rightly so.
