Lemonstone is an acoustic rock trio from Bridgewater, Massachusetts. They combine elements of blues, funk, and folk to create a unique sound. The band, which has only been together less than six months has already finished the first LP "Miles Away". They have been writing, recording, and playing for a while and now they''re ready to show their sound to the world.
Forming in September 2002, Lemonstone contains three truly unique personalities. Craig DeMelo, 20, sings and plays acoustic guitar. He''s been playing the guitar for five years and has been writing songs for three. His influences include Dave Matthews, Billy Joel, U2, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, and The Beatles. Previously, Craig played in a Hard Rock band Affliction. Later, he released two independent solo https://www.tradebit.com, Outside and The Director. He spent his summers playing solo gigs all around the area, until he met Jon and Jon, and formed Lemonstone.
Jon Saval, aka Jonny Bass has been playing the bass for about eight years. His vast musical influences include Flea, Victor Wooten, Phish, The Ramones, Stanley Clark, and the Bosstones. Jon has spent time playing in bands ranging from Punk to Funk. He did a stint in his High School Jazz Band. Later on, he played bass in the punk band, Surrender. In Lemonstone, Jon blends all of his influences to create his own style of bass playing.
Jon Francis, 20, has been playing the drums for about 16 years. His vast musical influences include The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Dave Matthews Band, Soundgarden, Tower of Power, The Who, Carter Beauford, Dennis Chambers, Dave Weckel, Abe Laborial Jr., and Jon Bonham. Jon has played in MANY different bands like Radical Pi, Land of the Waldos, Santa''s Seven Sons, Jon Francis and Friends, Jonny Day and his buddies, Blind Instinct, Demetrius'' Flying Apparatus (DFA), Militia, Saving Face, and Rides with Strangers. Jon''s experience and influences have helped him to create a very dynamic and musical drumming style.
Today, Lemonstone is busy promoting their debut CD Miles Away. They have been writing and playing around the area. With Jonny Bass'' smooth bass playing, Jon''s dynamic and musical drumming, and Craig''s melodic rhythms and passionate lyrics, Lemonstone is sure to attract attention.
The influences of Dave Matthews/Cat Steven meets Flea/Victor Wooten meets John Bonham/Dennis Chambers come together to make music in LemonStone.
