Martha Taylor LaCroix (aka Marti Lynn) began her musical career in New Orleans, Louisiana as vocalist with the Dick Stabile Orchestra. The late Dick Stabile was former Musical Director for Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis. Her first album recorded—“Introducing Marti Lynn”, was produced by Wardell Quezergue of "Mr. Big Stuff" and "Express Yourself"—R&B hits of the 70s. Her disco version of "Who Can I Turn To" released in 1979 is still downloaded by disco enthusiasts. During her time in New Orleans, Ms. LaCroix sang in the chorus of the New Orleans Opera Company. After moving to Los Angeles she performed in the musical “Get Happy” (based on works of composer, Harold Arlen—“Somewhere Over the Rainbow” to name one of many—She was noted for her rendition of "Happiness is Just a Thing Called Joe."
She is the daughter of internationally acclaimed minister (retired), Dr. Gardner C. Taylor. He received the Medal of Freedom in 2000 from President Bill Clinton for his work as pioneer in the civil rights movement and was mentor to civil rights leader; Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
"I Give You Jesus", is a song taken from her CD titled: Seasoned For Fathers & Sons. The CD is a collection of “Songs reflecting what my earthly father taught me to remember from season to season….” Her Christmas CD will be released October 2008.
