Madras proudly announces the release of their six-song EP,
"Dimestore Raves".
This marks the second effort of the L.A. based pop/rock quartet, which came together when East Coast transplants Dan Luperini(vocal/guitar) and Mark Tuminello (Bass) joined forces with southern California natives, Marc Thomas (guitar) and Derek Syverud (drums).
Showcased throughout Dimestore Raves, is Madras'' signature command of melody. However, with this most recent set comes new explorations in emotional dynamics and instrumental expression, evident in tracks like "Great Wide Spinout", which was mixed with assistance from Mikal Reid, who''s credits include production and mixing on Ben Harper''s debut album, Welcome to the Cruel World.
The arrival of Dimestore Raves comes on the heels of an exciting year for Madras. In the 2003-2004 academic year, Madras'' first release was added at more than 220 college radio stations across the U.S. and Canada.
Fueled by the single "Slow the Tide", longtime leader at https://www.tradebit.com,
the success of the first disc paralleled Madras'' noteworthy break onto the L.A. music scene. In less than 2 years time, the fledgling unit went from smaller off-the-beaten-path rooms and intimate audiences to bringing substantial crowds to more renowned Hollywood Venues like Club Vynyl (nka Club 1650) and the famous Viper Room on the Sunset Strip.
With the release of Dimestore Raves, Madras continues bringing their music to clubs and airwaves both local and nationwide.
