FOLK: Power-folk, ROCK: Acoustic
Hey, thanks for clicking on this CD and for taking the time to listen to my music.
I have always loved music. I suffered through piano and clarinet lessons as a youngster, but when I first held a guitar in my hands, something really clicked and I felt like I could make it sing with me.
When I was 14, my best friend invited me to the Newport Folk Festival with her family (that was in 1967) We miraculously had backstage passes and I got to hear and see close up then unknown performers like Arlo Guthrie and Joni Mitchell.
There were aslo plenty of "greats" like Joan Baez, Taj Mahal and the Jim Kweskin jug band...wow...what an awakening...I felt like I was home at last, being in such an environment.
The folk revival of the 60's found me holed up in my room figuring out the chords to every Bob Dylan, Donovan and Judy Collins song that I could.
I pretty much played by myself...occasionally performing for friends but mostly it was a private thing that I did for my own relaxation.
Flash forward 25 years to https://www.tradebit.com family and I move from Santa Fe, NM to a small town in Western Colorado.
Great beauty and great people surround me.
Folks gather and jam in an easy natural and non competative way.
People like my voice and I am encouraged to get out there more and more and share my music.
Before long I am singing with several women and learning about harmonies and such.
Then the inspiration to actually write a song hits.
Before that I think I felt like all the good songs had already been written.
Now I believe that the well of creativity is truly bottomless...just as all of creation is so varied.
Soon I was playing in a rock n roll world beat band (Tribal Revival)...writing and co-writing lots of songs and getting folks to dance and have fun.
This was great! All things change tho, and when this band split up I was pretty heartbroken.
However...I still had my music and my songs and my voice.
A friend had opened up a recording studio in our little town, and what the heck...I decided to go for one of my life dreams...to make my own recording of my own songs.
And here you have it.
Songs inspired by love and beauty and learning and dreaming.
I choose to move in the direction of the positive, I may flounder at times but I choose to come out smiling and counting my blessings.
I am very grateful for all of it.
The hard times seem to be lessons that make way for the good times.
I urge you to follow your dream, whatever it may be...I think that is what we are here to do.
I pray for peace on the planet and joy and love to fill our lives.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you like this music that has found it way through.
