INSPIRATIONS This debut album reflects Jeffrey''s earliest work with all pieces having been composed from ages 11 to 17. With these inspiring melodies Jeffrey has begun to carve a niche for himself as a composer and pianist.
At only 26 years old composer, pianist and recording artist Jeffrey Michael has performed for over 8 Million people and sold over 100,000 CD''s with his self-promotion strategy under his own record label Fireheart Music.
Jeffrey Michael was born in 1977 in Sterling Heights (Detroit), Michigan. In 1983 his great Grandmother (who also played) passed away and her piano was passed along to Jeffrey''s mother Mary. His mother actually told him not to touch the piano for fear that he would damage it at such a young age. Naturally, he disobeyed her and began playing the piano by ear when he was six years old. Without formal training he began composing his own music when he was only 11 years old. Jeffrey does not read music but rather is a self-taught musician who utilizes his excellent ear for his music and composes using a special shorthand that he developed at a young age. His musical influences are pianists George Winston and David Lanz as well as famous film composers Hans Zimmer (Pearl Harbor, Gladiator) Alan Silvestri (Forrest Gump, Contact) and James Horner (Braveheart, Titanic.)
In 1996 after briefly attending Eastern Michigan University and Schoolcraft College, Jeffrey started his own music company, which he named Fireheart Music. Since then he has developed his company into an independent record label where he composes, produces and arranges music CD''s. Under the Fireheart label Jeffrey has released and self-promoted 6 piano CD''s including "Inspirations" (1996), "Winter Spirits" (1999), "Sailing to the Stars" (1999), "Reflections" (2000), "Kaleidoscope" (2002) and "After the Storm" (2004).
For the past 4 years Jeffrey has been touring the United States performing small concerts and more recently has been a featured musician at many of the top rated Fine Art Festivals in the country. He has also performed for many illustrious companies including The Fox Family Channel, Robert Mondavi Wineries, Versace and The American Cancer Society as well as performing in Europe.
Jeffrey also composes music for film, television and video games. He has his own recording studio and has composed music for over 30 projects. Some of his credits Include music for The Sci-Fi Channel, Microsoft, Nintendo, ABC Family Channel, Bravo and The Oxygen TV Network. He is also a composer and sound director for Liquid Moon Studios (Vancouver, BC) where he composes music for video games and is currently working on 5 games for Sony PS2, Microsoft Xbox and PC. Jeffrey lives 9 months in the Tampa Bay, Florida area and spends the Summer in the Detroit, Michigan area.
