Greetings from Long Beach, Long Island

This is an album (CD) that has been in the making for many years. I've always wanted to put together an original effort, but one thing or another got in the way. This past year (2004) I was determined to finally accomplish this feat. It started with getting in touch with Ben Wisch who did a fantastic job engineering the CD in his "Bailey Building and Loan Studios" located in Manhattan. Ben is an accomplished engineer who recorded Marc Cohn's hit "Walking in Memphis" which won a few Grammy awards one of which was for best song. Ben is a pleasure to work with and is the consummate true professional in the studio.

While trying to record the album my lead guitarist "Blue" Lou Papagalis father passed away, then my mother became sick and she passed away one month later. I put off the project for a while and then just dove in the studio with Ben and we recorded in record
(no pun intended...) time. Matt "The Rookie" Lauro and Sal "Vatoor" Mastrachio came in and formed a fantastic backbone with their Bass and Drum playing.
Matt was able to come down even as he was planning his wedding, which I want to add I had a great time at (good luck to M &M).
Alexandra Rea came in and did a fantastic job on vocals on "Love is a thing we no longer share". And after all that we finally had a product that I think you will enjoy.

I have many influences which I'm sure you will hear. Most notably Jimmy Buffet, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steely Dan, Pearl Jam, REM, Eric Clapton, John Mellencamp, The Doors, The Rolling Stones and many more. I'm sure you can pick up these influences and more in my music. Just sit back, relax and listen...I hope you enjoy it...

The Songs

Sherry I'm going to Jamaica
Written 1/31/2002
Copyright 2004 T & A Music Productions

This song was written in 2002. I finally got the nerve to go traveling by myself because, being single, if I waited for family and friends I wouldn't go anywhere. Before I left for Jamaica I met this girl Sherry and she was beautiful. I was going to Jamaica the next day, so it would have been ridiculous to invite her after knowing her for a few hours. I figured when I got back we would go on a date. Jamaica was great, when I got back to NY Sherry was seeing some other guy and we never did date...

Lick, Drink, Suck ( The Tequila song)
Lyrics written 1/27/2002
Melody composed 1990

I never did get into smoking pot or doing any cocaine or any wild mind altering drugs but I would have to say Tequila is like no other drink I know of and puts me in a place far, far, away...

Wasted Child
Written 6/21/1990
Copyright 2004 T & A Music Productions

I wrote this song in 1990. It was written about a dear friend who let drugs get the best of her. It's a story you see all too often. She went off the beaten path and as always it was such a shame as she had so much promise...

I'm not waiting
Written 2/26/1991

This song was written in 1990 after a break up...I enjoyed tracking my voice on this one.

Getaway
Written 6/21/1990

Kind of song that I would want to have on while in a convertible on a highway on the first hot day of Spring... We all have had dark financial times and I wrote this back when I didn't have a penny to my name...

The Twins near the Sea
Written 9/12/2001
Copyright 2004 T & A Music Productions

This song was written on September 12th 2001. I worked in Manhattan and the day of the attacks will always be on my mind. I personally knew a good amount of people who both made it out of the towers and I also knew a good amount of people who didn't make it out of the towers. The initial reports were that 5000 people were estimated to have died. It turns out that number was more in the 3000 neighborhood but regardless it was horrible and I wanted to keep the original words that I had written that day... The four "mistakes" or "crashes" you hear at the beginning of the song represent the 4 airplanes (I'm not that bad a musician....).

Baby I met on the internet
Written 8/13/2002

Well the title says it all. In 2000 I got on the web and dated girls who I met on the internet. I've met some really great girls online and I ended up writing a few songs about some of them.

Special Rendezvous
Written 10/23/2002

Well I met a girl online who lived in Seattle and I lived in Long Island. So where do you meet? Vegas, of course!!! So I wrote an upbeat blues tune to it. Lou's guitar solo's here is top rate...

Mozelle

Well another internet girl...actually this is the same girl in the Special Rendezvous song from Seattle....We never ended up seeing each other after Vegas...but I did come home with some winnings...

Where are you now?
Written 3/13/2003

In life you need to take a "timeout" and measure where you are, where you are going, etc. I wrote this when I had a number of major decisions to make. One of those decisions was to do this album, and the other decision I decided to go through turned out better then I could have imagined...Bottom line is you only have one life and if you are going to play it safe you may regret it 20 years from now...This is the only song that I played all instruments on.

Love is a thing we no longer share

This song I wrote back in 1990 as well. So many times if your in a relationship instead of breaking up you kind of just go through the motions. I wrote it after I taught myself how to play my grandfathers mandolin we found in the attic. In 2004 when I was doing this album I got the idea to make it a duet. I've known Alexandra Reo as she sang lead in Sal's Band. I wrote some female lyrics, and I got her in my studio and we did a quick Demo and it sounded great.
