Details:
Steve Durham plays hard Honky-Tonk music, with lyrics that relate to working people. He and his band, The White Line Ramblers, play high-energy shows that get folks on their feet, keep ''em dancing, and give them time to reflect as well.
They play shows all over the High Desert and Central California. Steve and his band have opened for Hal Ketcham, and Steve has opened, accoustically, for Scotty Emerich, Toby Keith''s guitar player and co-songwriter, and Brian McCombus.
Steve''s major influences are Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, and Bruce Springsteen.
Steve cites Bruce Springsteen as a major influence on his live show. He lives on a ranch in Southern California, at an elevation of almost four thousand feet, and he writes a lot of his songs in his yard, looking out over a valley where he can see for sixty miles. He loves the desert, and finds it very inspiring in his work. He believes that Country music can address questions that matter to the lives of everyday folks, and that working people (which is where he comes from) deserve to be treated with respect, and to be entertained.

In his show, Steve, often, plays an accoustic set, and performs accoustic shows in addition to the shows he plays with his band. He plays guitar, harmonica, and piano. He was an English Major in College, and reads widely on a variety of subjects. Some people call Steve a "Zen Cowboy." His motto is: "Love, Honor, Respect, Protect."
