"Hauntingly memorable," writes Jay Votel of The Washington Times of "Unbearably Sweet," the debut full-length release by critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter Morrigan. Morrigan''s silky, resonant alto enhances the emotional nudity of this deeply touching collection of songs. The songwriting is intimate, uncomplicated, and poignant, comprising a folk opera describing Morrigan''s turbulent voyage through her twenties. The journey climaxes with the tenth track, "Flood," as she rises from the ashes of self-destruction to rediscover her ability to love herself and the world around her.
Morrigan, whose life has been an emotionally exhaustive journey from hope to despair and back since she first discovered she had damaged her vocal chords at age seventeen; she was told she would never sing again. For this musically gifted songstress who had sung practically non-stop since the age of 8, the prognosis broke her heart and for a time, her spirit as well. Ten years later, she went into the studio to record this triumphant return to grace; and with the help of producer Brad Allen, created a cohesive album of ten emotionally vibrant songs that are as therapeutic for the listener as they are for the singer.
