Based in Austin, Texas, Rick Steinburg and The Stonecastle Family Band, features singer/songwriter Rick Steinburg with his wife and two daughters. An acoustic band with a repertoire of original songs ranging stylistically from blues to folk gospel, Rick and the band have performed in a variety of venues. As well as monthly appearances in Austin and central Texas, the band spends the summer months on tour.
Sweet Redemption is the most recent of their four CDs. This album highlights Rick’s live vocal, guitar/harmonica style with the addition of daughter, Delleney, on the fiddle on many of the songs. Harmony vocals are handled by wife, Deby and younger daughter, Mykaela. Other instruments that Rick played to round out the sound on this album are the accordion, melodica, and hammer dulcimer. Lyrically, the songs serve as a witness to how faith plays out in real life situations; some gentle in response to God’s grace, others desperately crying out for redemption in the face of a broken world.
