Details:
Ninth Street Bridge is Americana. Their first album titled, ‘Goin’ Home’ was released June 21, 2008. The songs are an expression of living from the perspective of growing up in a small Midwest town where country isn’t just a preference, it’s a state of mind and a way of living that values family and those in your life that make you a better person.

The founding members, Brett Riggins and Victoria Bowman, started performing and working together in 2005 and recording in 2007. Together, guitar and bass guitar, they are the songwriter’s and continue to be the driving force of the band. Original drummer, Jimmy Labis, performs on several cuts on the album, but decided the musicians’ life wasn’t for him. Matthew Haughey took over on drums and added an energetic and creative beat to songs like I Found Her and Sink Don’t Work. Allen Bates (resonator guitar, banjo, and mandolin), Rick Willey (fiddle), and Lisa Chilton (vocals) were brought in for their unique and exceptional talents. Andy Yacuk added the final touch with his tasty guitar leads.

There are songs that make you want to clap your hands (Fish Are Biting, I Found Her), others that rock (Old Man, Help Me, Alright), some are eclectic (Goin Home, Resurrection, and Sink Don’t Work) and ballads (Little Town Called Chicago, Here for You, and Kid Like Me) that pull on the heart strings.

The band has performed for large and small venues, festivals, clubs, and parties. NSB has something for everyone to enjoy whether young or old, male or female, country or rock-n-roll. This first album is only the beginning. They have a lot more stories to tell.

"The band''s music, at least as I heard it on their CD, "Goin'' Home," is at once warmly familiar and intriguingly new. It is the sound of my trips to North Carolina and the sound of mowing my great-grandfather''s lawn, my Walkman singing George Jones into my ears. But it is also the sound of dancing close with blushing girls in 7th grade to Matchbox 20, falling in love both with the feel of a body near mine and with sound blasting loud from those cheap P.A. speakers. …….Justin A. Hinkley, rock journalist, BC Enquirer, 9/26/08."
