Joynt Chiefs is a confederation of criminals, thugs, and killers. JUST KIDDING! We just wanted to get your attention. Actually, Joynt Chiefs is a group of groups and solo artists, who were originally known as Y.D.I. (Young Dangerous Individuals), that came together to form a cohesive unit. A unit fixated on the goal of creating tight lyrics and putting forth good music. Every member is determined to be successful in this industry. Every member is ready to pick up a mic, at anytime, and get a party started. The artists represented have been practicing and honing their respective crafts since before they were teenagers, spending years of preparation for their time in the limelight. They have professional level talent.
Duelo, Inestine, Bazerk, C-Money, D’Range, and General have all known each other for a number of years, and have come together from Compton, Carson, and South Central Los Angeles to represent the West Coast. Starting in 1995 when they first came together, and decided to combine their talents and styles on one song, “Representin’ (The Remix.)” The combination was so effortless and successful; it made one think it was something that was done on a more frequent basis.
Joynt Chiefs came about in 2002, but as previously stated was originally known as Y.D.I., which stood for Young Dangerous Individuals. This started, as a clique, back when the members were in high school. It evolved into a music group (rap group.) Back then, the association was more loose, groups and artists supporting one another’s endeavors. Groups such as B.L.A.K. Syndrome, H.E.O.R.B., Phatt Like That, 9-Ways, The Professionals, TimbukII, Roks & Money, and also such solo artists as RAW B, C-Money, and Sydewayz have all evolved from Y.D.I. and into Joynt Chiefs. (Be on the lookout for the projects from these individual groups, which are still being completed.) When Joynt Chiefs come together on a project, the chemistry is like that of an individual group, one big group. All the pieces fit together no matter how you arrange them. Joynt Chiefs have all the makings of a powerful force and dynasty in the music industry.
