Stonewall Noise Orchestra’s sledgehammer sound, forged in the industrial city of Borlange, owes as much to the band members’ jobs at the local steel plant and paper mill as it does to their love of Black Sabbath, Monster Magnet, Led Zeppelin, Tool, The Beatles, Soundgarden, the Sex Pistols and even Robert Johnson.
Stonewall Noise Orchestra’s second album, ‘Constants In An Ever Changing Universe’, set for release on November 3rd on The Unit Music Company record label, will be their debut UK release. A powerful, melody ridden album, packed with hard driving double lead guitar riffs and soaring stoner vocals, all driven by a rhythm section tighter than a duck’s arse, ‘Constants In An Ever Changing Universe’ is all set to firmly establish S.N.O. on the UK rock scene.
Stonewall Noise Orchestra will preview the album at their debut UK gig on October 27th, at London’s Islington Academy 3.
Stonewall Noise Orchestra were formed in 2004, by ex-members of local bands Demon Cleaner and Greanleaf. Having won a reputation for their devastating live performances in Sweden supporting Monster Magnet, they were invited to Germany to play at the ‘Stoned From The Undergound’ festival, which led to a series of shows on the Stoner scene there.
In these early days, the band made ends meet on the road by buying booze in Germany and re-selling it in Sweden, and, of course, by selling t-shirts to new fans won over on tour.
Stonewall Noise Orchestra’s juggernaut sound soon attracted the attention of Daredevil Records in Germany, who paid for the band to record their debut album, ‘Vol. 1’, in 2005.
The band then toured Europe in the Autumn of 2005, playing extensively in Germany and Sweden after debut gigs in France, Holland, Belgium and Luxemburg. 2006 saw them tour Germany with Blindside, and 2007 saw dates with Warrior Soul, as well as many headline shows in their own right.
In 2008 S.N.O. signed to new record label The Unit Music Group, and went into the studio to record ‘Constants In An Ever Changing Universe’, an excellent introduction to yet another brilliant new hard rock band to emerge from the industrial heartlands of Sweden.
