Planet Thirteen is the latest venture between singer songwriter Ray Zarate & Composer, Musician Lance Benedict. Planet 13 marks the first time since 1993 that Ray & Lance have teamed up and this new project Planet 13 is clearly their best work to date. To produce this one of a kind 50 minute progressive rock concept album Lance had to write, compose, arrange and play all the musical instruments on the record. This task was time consuming but the end result was exaclty what he wanted. After recording all the music Lance brought in his long time friend and extraordinary vocalist/musician Ray Zarate to lay down the vocals. Since both Ray & Lance lived on seperate coasts, Ray flew in to Orange County, CA where the vocals were recorded in just 10 hours. This was a remarkable feat to be able to sing an entire record not to mention, a hard and progressive one. The end result turned out a record that is not only original and intense but very captivating and spiritual. Planet 13 is currently writing for the next album which should be available on CDBABY & https://www.tradebit.com early 2005. As for now, P13 is scheduled to receive major airplay throughout the US and Canada on over 300 college and commercial stations.
