Who is Big Will?
Big Will, born William Arthur Smith, was born on the shores of Galveston, Texas in 1982. Will hails from the poverty driven streets of Port Arthur, Texas where he experienced the hardships and trials of surviving in a low income environment. In the midst of all tribulations, Will was the shining star of the urban community. Since the tender age of four, will has expressed his sheer dedication to the art of making music by playing with musical instruments and gaining studio experience with the musical genius Larry "T-Byrd" Gordon at LaMe'' Records. Will first discovered his talents when Pauline Smith (Mother) purchased a karaoke machine for him on his 13th birthday, from that day forward, Will proceeded to write his own songs in an effort to relay messages to fellow youth so that they would know that the world is bigger than the "hood" that we come from. Big Will is an artist who has traveled the world and seen many things, so he is able to take those experiences and use hip-hop to communicate with youth in a way that is easier for them to understand. Will has been at the forefront of independent artists since the age of sixteen with will to establish a nationally recognized recording label from the underground to the world! Will has been internationally and royally recognized for the music that he has produced for various artists around the world.
What has he done!
First, of all, Will is not only an acclaimed artist; he is also a phenomenal producer and performer. At the age of thirteen, Will featured on European superstar Angel Tazari''s album, AT Her Best lyrically caressing songs like "Feel the Music" and "Silent Cries" which became well-known overseas. At the age of fifteen, Will was affiliated with Star of D Records linking with the group Hard Core Hustlaz to embark upon the Texas Ghetto Jam Tour traveling to cities statewide. Will is also responsible for tracks from artists such as Lil Larry, Young Phil, The Regime, Predator Athlete, Big Reese and more. Will has been producing for more than 10 yrs. Providing underground artists with a unique but southern sound that is unmistakable! Now at the age of twenty-two, Will has received his Bachelors degree in Business Administration while playing 5 yrs. of collegiate football at Alcorn State University.
