MP3 Robert Deeble - Earthside Down

"Wistful folk-pop, sparsely arranged, gracefully performed, and achingly beautiful to behold" -The Santa Barbara independent.

11 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Modern Folk, SPOKEN WORD: Poetry

Robert Deeble''s music discourages comparison. His imagery and approach have recently conjured such influences as James William Hindle, Josh Rouse, Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake.

Notable to his past recordings has been the partnership of Stephen Hodges (Tom Waits, Mike Watt) and Anthony Arvizu who played and co-produced. "Days Like These" (Liberation Music), his debut release, included folk heroine Victoria Williams who joined Robert on a landmark duet ("Rock A Bye") which gained critical acclaim for the record. It was followed several years later by "Earthside Down" , (Jackson Rubio), much darker in tone and described as: "Wistful folk-pop, sparsely arranged, gracefully performed, and achingly beautiful to behold." Robert''s 7" version of Dylan''s "Boots of Spanish Leather" was picked up in 03 by BMG Europe for a Dylan tribute just previous to his third full length record, "13 Stories" (03/04 Pete Records/Fractured discs).

Deeble has supported shows for Low, The Kingsbury Manx, Pedro The Lion, Shannon Wright, Victoria Williams, Michelle Shocked, Songs:Ohia, Rosie Thomas, The Vigilantes of Love, Over The Rhine and Steppenwolf (yes Steppenwolf...). He currently resides in Seattle Washington.
