Details:
Mod Amish is a band born out of the love of hard pop tunes, melody and ear splitting noise. While these two things might seem contradictory to some, the MAs stir them together like cereal and milk. The band''s roots trace back to south Louisiana where they gigged relentlessly and built a loyal following. Today, the Mod Amish are making a name for themselves in Southern California.
Central to the band''s sound is the songwriting of singer/guitarist Shannon Jones who has honed his craft nicely over the course of the bands first album "Mod Amish" (2006) and "No Use For Sunshine." (September 30, 2008) As a unit, they seamlessly blend together classic influences like the Beatles and the Who with punk/alternative favorites Husker Du, the Pixies, Mercury Rev and the Arcade Fire.
