"I thought it was time for some blues again. This time with the blues veteran Brian Kramer, who have recently released the album âLive at Club Stampenâ under the name Brian Kramer & the Nights of Blu-topia. Brian invites us to an intimate and soulful performance in the company of great musicians like Mats Qwarfordt, âIron Handâ Mike Haglund, Marcelo Nunez and Peter Freij.
Itâs a wonderful collection of songs that Brian presents here. I find a nice earthy, positive (can I say that?) blues, together with folk music and bluegrass, which makes my feet move, and also nice bluesy singer/songwriter tunes. Good music, of course, always comes from within, but somewhere I feel that the blues lies as close as you can get to the soul. And judging from what I hear it would be real nice to meet a person like Brian Kramer."

âTo make it simple â the album is smokinâ hot!
This is what I call a fabulous album. For those who think that you canât be creative while playing acoustic blues, âLive At Club Stampenâ is proof of how wrong they are. Great stuff!

âThe Brian Kramer Blues Jams at the Stampen Pub in the old town of Stockholm, every Saturday at 2 pm, is the only place to be on a Saturday afternoon. Brian's the numero-uno defender of live music in Stockholm and deserves all the cred he can get.
Brian's got a big heart and he's vital and essential to the Stockholm music scene.
The new album; Live at Club Stampen, sees Brian's Sat Blues Jam Band (beefed with incredible guitarist Chuck Anthony and mando-player Bert Deivert) run thru a number of songs we've learned to appreciate.
It captures the essence of Brian Kramer, the core of his greatness. Being a live-CD and knowing everything kicks louder and livelier live than studio, this is a well-working poster of the greatness of Brian.
The CD offers a number of great songs that works well on the stereo, but will more or less kick your ass live. Brian is a Live-artist. And this is an advertisement that will see people cueing up outside Stampen on Saturday afternoons and Blue Monday evenings.
I enjoy the CD, It's been spinning for a week and I haven't grown tired of it. Au contraire â it makes me wish for another Stampen Saturday.
Brian's got his mojo working solid.â

"I love the record. It's your best one,
there's a poetry to it.
I listened to it three times and that's allot for me!"

âBlues based music that makes you happy while listening to itâ¦â
His latest release; Brian Kramer & the Nights of Blu-topia, Live at Club Stampen (BKB 0004) has taken this a step further, bringing the listener to Brianâs home base at Club Stampen in Stockholm, where he has performed to a full house week after week for the past ten years and influenced a new generation of young performers. An excerpt from the 2005 book,
Encyclopedia of the Blues by Edward M. Komara reads;
âOne important step in broadening the interest in blues music was the starting in the late 1990s of jam sessions at the club Stampen in Stockholm by the American singer and guitar player Brian Kramer.â
This high quality, multi-track recording features some of Swedenâs finest musicians as special guests and showcases Brianâs original material that spans the scope of his world/blues influences.
From Brooklyn NY to the Southern Delta to Mali, you can hear the fine thread that overlaps & connects each genre as it filters through Brianâs personal experience with his unique style and National slide guitar.
This recording is his most intimate and at home and it is 100 live so all the raw energy is there.
