One of San Francisco''s most exciting and unique guitarists, Rich Montero continues to expand his audience and make his mark in the music scene with a polished, potent sound and a dedicated, experienced live show.
The 20 minute 5-song EP "Time Changes Everything" is the long-anticipated record release from this new solo artist that celebrates the return of hard rock song writing with an appreciation for catchy guitar riffs and solid rock rhythm & tone.
The record has radio crossover songs such as "In The Rain," hard edgy rockers like "Are You Kidding Me?" and story telling sing-along songs like "Time Changes Everything." The combination of lyrics and guitar work showcases Montero''s singing and song writing abilities in which he exudes a very powerful, convincing and emotional performance.
Montero says he titled the album "Time Changes Everything" because "At this point in my life I feel I''ve lived through some life changing events and have a greater perspective about living than I''ve ever had before. I can see how decisions I''ve made early on have played out, and fully realize what''s important to me as far as how I live, and the kind of people I want to be around. As in life itself, ''Time Changes Everything'' is about the journey, not about the destination."
Montero feels he accomplished his creative goals for the record by painstakingly producing a memorable recording session "where the music has a certain viscosity to it." His pulse pounding music jumps from tracks ready for the dance floor, to songs that pick up the listener by the gut and pins him to the wall, to wind like melodies echoing from the thought-provoking title track.
The February 2005 released EP was recorded at HIT Wall Studios in South San Francisco. The 3-Man studio line up features Bay Area acclaimed Drummer & Percussionist Garry Williams, and renowned Bassist Brian Ekberg. Recording and Mixing Engineer Matt Strickland poured his considerable talents into getting the richest tones from every instrument. HIT Studios has one of the best live recording rooms in the Bay Area, used by artists from Joan Baez to The Donnas. Mastering Engineer Justin Weis of Trakworx elevated the recording to industry standard quality, making every note pop at any level of playback volume.
This collection of music will not disappoint a listener looking for new Rock Music artists, or anyone who enjoys a good song with lyrics that fill the imagination with vivid colorful pictures.
