During My Rival Sun''s two-year stint on the scene, they were compared to high-energy rockers like Pearl Jam, Coldplay and U2. Their first release, a 4-song EP in late 2002, was enough to gain notice from Atlanta-based ShutEye Records who selected a track for inclusion on their college radio sampler CD. Their self-produced full-length CD(April 2004), saw the band moving in different directions. After performing to crowds large and small, the quintet disbanded. In March 2005, some of the original members formed a new band, goldenstate, and have just released their debut CD/EP - also available on CDBaby.
