"I think I want want every musician wants," says Chris, "I just wanna write songs that will last forever! Great melodies and songs that you can''t get out of your head, that''s what''s important to me."
Originally from South Africa, Chris grew up near the beach and still considers himself to be just your average guy, "Yeah, just give me the simple things in life, a day at the beach with my friends, surfing a few waves and listening to some good music. The best things in life are free right? Good people and relationships - I guess sometimes we forget that".
Chris has become quite well-known for writing music that crosses many genre''s and styles, "To me," he says, "I always find it weird listening to an artist who''s songs all sound the same stylistically speaking, because if you ask the average person what kind of music they like, they''ll tell you many kinds! Depending on how they''re feeling that day or moment. When I write music it''s the same, sometimes I just wanna take it easy and strum the acoustic guitar reflecting on life and love... Other times, I just wanna pull out my Strat and rock out and have a good time!"
For the future Chris wants to carry on sharing his music with other people. As he puts it in his own words: "You know when an artist says that they write music purely for themselves? This never made much sense to me... I mean if I wanna listen to some music I''m gonna listen to somebody else, right?! I think music should be written and shared, I always keep in mind when I''m writing a song that I''m actually writing it for someone else... It''s like making someone a gift."
