INOUWALI ( Thank You)
Track #7 (Inouwali) is dedicated to Moussa and Tenenfig Diabate. We thank Moussa and Tenenfig for taking us to their home in Guinea, West Africa to be taught by the best in the WORLD.

Track #10 (Ayiyama) is dedicated to all mothers and a special honor to Mama Wanda Dickerson, mother of Universal African Dance and Drum Ensemble who is featured on track #10.

Our Composer, Arranger, Producer, Artistic Director and Chief Choreographer of this wonderful CD. Jamal P. Dickerson, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dickerson, was born into the arts. Jamal is also a graduate of MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in MUSIC EDUCATION. He is the mastermind, arranger, composer and head performer of our Universal African Dance and Drum Ensemble and our first African Drum and Song CD called DIMEDI FAABE (Call to the Children) and our second CD called INOUWALI (Thank you). Jamal traveled the United States of America performing, teaching and learning for many years and also had the pleasure to travel the Caribbean and Africa doing the same. Jamal has performed for millions at many prestigious venues, programs and millions on local, national and international television with his performing arts programs at the Unity Community Center in Camden, New Jersey. He has been blessed with a wealth of knowledge in America and abroad.

Jamal, his wife Ronsha and the family of Universal African Dance & Drum Ensemble were blessed by learning traditional authentic dance, drum, song, language and instruments from African master teachers, historians and scholars, such as Moussa Diabate, and Tenenfig Dioubate. Moussa and Tenenfig are from the best African Dance & Drum Troupes in the WORLD out of West Africa (Guinea). They learned more of the Djembe Family of Drums, Balaphon, Kora, and masquerade from: MITO CAMARA, MAMADY MANSARE,PAPA HIDARA, SEKOU DIABATE, JUDEE, and OUSMAN. Other great teachers of the Ballet of Guinea, Africa, were also responsible for teaching Jamal the Guinea style of drumming such as,KOLIPE, JULEA,MAMADOUBA MOHAMED CAMARA, and others. Jamal has also learned the art and craftsmanship on how to skin, and string the drums, the Balaphon, the Kora and other authentic instruments, to ballet performance quality from these great teachers in Africa and America. Jamalâs son, Jamal II is highlighted on many of the tracks, representing the professional children of our troupe.

Africans and African Americans (Black People) must learn how to appreciate each other through education, history, arts, literature and the performing arts.
We should Honor, Respect, and Appreciate the culture from which African Americans (Black People) of America originated.

Love, the love of life, the love of humanity is paramount
Inouwali (thank you) by Robert H. Dickerson
