Don Beckman was raised in Marquette, Michigan. He started playing trumpet, piano and guitar while still in elementary school. Don graduated with a music degree from Northern Michigan University and a Masters degree in music in 1963. He started writing music during his high school years and it is still one of the joys of his life. Don was "born again" in 1981 and started seriously writing Christian music. Since that time he has composed over 500 Christian contemporary, Praise and Worship, and Christmas songs. Don has lead praise and worship for various churches and evangelists during that time. He plays banjo, mandolin, and flute as well as the above mintioned instruments and is a world class whistler. Don has other projects in process at this time and hopes to have his third CD done fairly soon.
