Details:
With her debut album, "Surreal So Good," released in November 2004, Austin-based singer/songwriter Stacey Steger is proving to new audiences that she knows how to rock.
Steger has solidified her transition from solo acoustic performer to fronting her own rock band after crafting her song writing and performance style through several years on the acoustic coffee-house circuit.
In 2003, she formed a new band backed by several veteran Texas musicians, including her father, lead guitarist Ken Steger.
With a new slate of original rockin'' Stacey songs, the band premiered in Houston before hitting the road to play in Austin and the San Antonio area. Since that time, Stacey has played some of Texas'' best known live music clubs including the Rhythm Room and Rudyard''s in Houston as well as the Hard Rock Cafe, Momos, Johnny Finn''s, and The Pier in Austin - opening for talented national artists such as Patrice Pike and Jimmy LaFave.
Stacey has also performed in two "Go Girls Rock" shows with, among others, The Googe, Amy Jo, and Cobalt, and was featured on Houston''s KPFT-FM 90.1 radio with a live acoustic set hosted by DJ Larry Winters on his weekly music show, Spare Change.
She was also recently featured playing an acoustic solo set on a live TV broadcast on the Austin Music Network.
A funky remixed techno version of Stacey''s song, "Goodnight," which she recorded in 1999 for Microdot Records, recently reached Number 1 on the https://www.tradebit.com charts for Electronic Music, and #103 out of 90,000-plus songs for all genres.
Stacey''s debut CD features 12 all-original songs with the backing of some of Texas'' best musical talent.
"Surreal So Good" is produced by Chris Rogers, who has a long list of credits dating back to his days as songwriter, lead guitarist, and producer for the critically acclaimed band, Skillit, to his current projects, SlapShifter and orange is in.
Also contributing on the recording session are veteran musicians Ken Steger, Eric Sherrill, Danny Hight and well-known drummer Leesa Harrington-Squyres (formerly with Carolyn Wonderland and the Joint Chiefs), and, on bass, Jeff Balke (formerly of the Basics and Under the Sun).
Sarah Golden, a talented Houston singer/songwriter, adds texture to the CD with background vocals on several of the song tracks.
"Surreal So Good" is available for purchase online through Stacey''s web site at https://www.tradebit.com and at https://www.tradebit.com and https://www.tradebit.com.
