Given his first keyboard by his older brother as a gift, Troy made great strides in conquering the instrument, despite not having any formal training. ~ Just a few years later, Troy composed his first song, music and lyrics, entitled "No More Love". ~ It was recorded later that year with Troy on keyboards and his friend Doodle on lead vocals and harmonica.
Troy never considered himself a vocalist, but with some convincing by Doodle, who was a lead singer in local bands, he decided to try and record some original songs on his own. ~ He composed more melodies on the keyboard, (some with drum tracks), and matched them with existing lyrics that he had written years earlier.
By the end of 1992, Troy had a dozen songs written but, unfortunatly, he did not have any professional equipment or money for time in a recording studio. ~ He decided to record all of the songs on his boom-box. ~ The sound was raw, but it showcased his ideas well.
In 2002, after about 5 years of not being involved with anything musically, Troy decided to restart "The Steel Scream Project", with Doodle serving as producer. ~ Troy released his first CD through https://www.tradebit.com with the same 12 songs he recorded in the early 90''s and called it "Raw Tracks".
Before https://www.tradebit.com''s sudden demise in December of 2003, Troy had managed to release three full-length albums of original material, plus one CD single. ~ "Journey By Rail" is Troy''s first album recorded in a proper studio setting, giving him the motto...
~ "Thinking outside the boom box!" ~
