Dan Taulbee started classical piano lessons at the age of 8. Within a couple of years he was deemed a child prodigy. By age 13 he was competing in college piano competitions, frequently taking first prize. Shortly before his 14th birthday, he found an interest in sports - particularly football and bodybuilding, and then quit the piano. After 5 years of concussions and hardly touching the piano, Dan Taulbee soon returned to his first love - the piano. In the spring semester of his freshmen year of college, Dan auditioned for a music scholarship. He took home the first prize Fine Arts scholarship after only 2 months of preparation. By his senior year, he developed tendonitis in his wrists and carpal tunnel syndrome. Needless to say, his classical piano days were over. After another 2 year break away from the piano, Dan Taulbee started writing music. His debut album "new life" was released in November 2004. His album is dedicated to his newborn son, hence the title "new life." Dan''s purpose of this album is to teach his son to follow his dreams - no matter the obstacles. Dan''s dream was to become a pianist. Now at the age of 28, Dan Taulbee is living out his dream.
