Bobby Taylor is a Nashville Songwriter/Singer/Actor. He has had songs recorded by Montgomery Gentry "Hillbilly Shoes," Ty Herndon "A Man Holdin'' On To A Woman Lettin'' Go," Billy Ray Cyrus "Did I Forget To Pray," Neal McCoy "''Betcha Can''t Do That Again," Rick Trevino "Mary''s Just A Plain Jane," Shannon Lawson "Chase the Sun," Doug Supernaw "Daddy Made The Dollars," and many other Nashville based recording artists. He has performed on many stages as an actor including The Lamb''s Theater (New York City), The Grand Ole Opry, The Cumberland County Playhouse, and the historic Ryman Auditorium. This is his first album.

A few years ago Bobby was driving north from the Atlanta area when he got lost in the little town of Blue Ridge,GA. Some months later that experience became the backdrop for his album "Clouds Without Rain." He wrote the songs over a nine month period often playing the new creations for Cole Wright (friend, music advocate, producer.) Bobby began to refer to the project as a "songnovel."

Bobby describes his experience...

"I wanted to create a piece of work that told a story as a whole. I do a lot of driving and I wanted to write something that would help people take a few miles off of the road. This piece is linear but if you have it on repeat you will notice that it''s also circular. Musically I wanted to embrace my heritage as a Tennessean and a Celt. I bought a bazouki, a dulcimer, and a couple of new guitars just to inspire me. And I wanted to write the songs by myself. So often in Nashville we co-write, which I love, but I wanted the challenge of doing this without calling upon a co-writer. I had to grow a lot. I''ve always been a shy singer....happy to step out of the way and let someone else do that part.....we have so many great singers in Nashville. I wanted to sing the songs this time."

Surrounded by world class musicians..... Jim Hoke, Dan Dugmore, Pat Flynn, David Rorick, Tommy Harden, Glen Duncan, Stuart Duncan, Bruce Bouton,Larry Paxton, and Scott Shipley......Bobby and Cole created 17 tracks of music. If sound was sight this would be a movie. Bobby leans into the culture. He writes with a reverence for the remnants of Appalachia. This piece is as colorful as a Southern quilt and as potent as a sip of moonshine. The penny-whistle will break your heart. The accordion will wash over you like a river. The guitars, mandolins, fiddles and banjo will make you think you''re walking in a field of wildflowers. A field of flowers with an interstate running through it. And the poetry will bring up feelings you didn''t even know you had.

The 20 page book inside serves as a roadmap for the story...a perfect compliment to the music.

Bobby says...."I could have been done with this months ago but I wanted the booklet inside to help the listener navigate through the piece. When I buy an album the first thing I do is to check out the information inside ......lyrics...studio....instruments.....pictures...pickers... That stuff is important to me and I wanted the listener to have the same kind of information I like to have. I hope you to go a little deeper every time you take this ride."

This is: For the Drive. For the Journey!
