Details:
Climb High began as a vision. Jason Johnson and Brenda Yelvington, songwriters and co-owners of Omega Sound Recording Studios, set out in early 2008 to write a collection of songs that embodied the overall theme and message of Erik Weihenmayer – as in the tale of The Alchemist, take whatever ‘lead’ life gives you, and turn it into gold. Both Jason and Brenda have witnessed a degree of alchemy as, one by one, eleven truly inspirational songs were written and produced in a mere 6- month period. As the elements aligned, a set of
gifted vocalists and musicians emerged, giving each song its own unique character and breathing life into the entire project. This group ranges from young first-timers to seasoned performers and features some of the strongest talent found in Arkansas’ beautiful River Valley Region.

A little about the songs . . .
Climb High - was written in awe of all the mountains Erik has climbed in his life both literally and figuratively.
Blossom - comes from those times when you feel that no one sees your worth or potential – except
yourself.
Be Heard - is a call to stand up, confront naysayers, and shatter expectations.
Hero - came after witnessing the special relationship between Erik and his father on his Everest climb. Often our true heroes are the ones not in the spotlight.
The Alchemist (These Hands) - Is inspired by Erik''s life journey to turn his
challenges into greatness. Most of us face adversity, yet deep down we know that we too have a destiny to fulfill and a responsibility to fulfill it.
Reach - was born from Erik''s struggle to pull himself up from exhaustion, doubt,
and fear during his early climbs. Even when we think we''ve lost our way – reach.
Friend in You - honors Erik''s 2004 expedition when he and his Mt. Everest team led a group of six blind Tibetan teenagers to 21,500 feet on the flanks of Mt. Everest. They ultimately stood higher than any team of blind people in history.
That''s My Brother - started off as a tribute to Erik''s relationship with his brothers and became a gentle reminder that we cannot ignore the pain and suffering of others.
Voice of the Mountain - is a conversation between the mountaineer and the mountain. It represents the soul of Erik''s mountain and the calling to climb and keep climbing.
Lifeline - reminds us that we are all connected, as Erik says, "part of the same rope team."
I See - comes from Erik''s powerful sense of belief. He says, "seeing isn''t believing. Believing is seeing.
