What do you do when you want to record a live album but don''t want to go through the hassles involved in setting up a location recording? You do a studio recording, but invite an audience! On Saturday 29th November 2003, Compliments of Gus performed two concerts, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening, to 40 people crammed into the ''live'' room at Baker Street Studios. It was a cosy, relaxed and intimate time that gave the band an opportunity to play all their favourite Compliments of Gus songs and throw in four new ones, including the only radio single released from this album, the Claire Hazzard cover We''re Still Counting. The band also revisited some of their earliest songs, re-working Greatest Gift to segue seamlessly to the instrumental Decameron. This album is free from overdubs or session musicians; it really is just four best friends playing music together, with all the fun and spontaneity common to a Compliments of Gus gig.
