Details:
Rudolph Luque Contreras, ‘Dominic’, began playing piano at the age of thirteen. He was trained by a childhood friend who lived next to the house where he grew up. He comes from a long tradition of professional musicians and performers going back to the 18th Century. Some of whom played piano, violin, cello and guitar. Many played for various troupes as soloists or accompaniments to circus performances which were family ran and operated and who travelled throughout North and South America, particularly the villages of Old Mexico throughout most of the 19th Century, during the revolution.
Previously, in the 1990’s, he worked as a music promoter and now brings this composition, written in 1994 to the studio for a fresh rendition. It was recorded on a Baby Grand piano and is translated from the Italian, ‘our cross’. This track, inspired from Matthew 2, pays homage to the birth of our Savior where it is written, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
