Vered Dekel was born in Tel-Aviv,Israel. She started her musical journey at the age of six in England. Joining her brother who studied guitar under Roland Garcia -the three of them performed together for two years.
Returning to Israel in 1980 Vered continued her studies - completing her classical training at the "Anzagi conservatory" in 1986.
"Already at that time I was all day at the piano. Writing Songs and singing, checking out harmonies and imitating Vocalists - Nothing could be more fun".
In 1988 for her Graduation Party, Vered composed a full original musical - Lyrics and Music. Fifty actors and Singers from the graduates participated in the event - while vered conducts the band from her piano bench
Then it was time for a CHANGE.
"I felt the need to explore more musical genre''s and Jazz was what attracted me. From my first encounter with jazz I fell in love with it. The voices, the feel, the improvisation - everything was new and exciting." after completing her mandatory army service, she started studying jazz piano and voice - graduating with honors from "Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music" in 1992. The next Step was New York were she received her Bachelor degree for Jazz Performance at the "Mannes college of Music" and continued her masters degree at the "Ruben Academy of Music" in Jerusalem in Jazz and Classical composition.
Vered''s first Notable performance in the International Jazz arena was at the age of 21. Her graduation Project was accepted to the "Red sea Jazz Festival" in Eilat together with famous artists like Michael Pertrociani, Chick Corea, Paul Bley and Norma Simons, receiving from this performance the title "Best Jazz Performance of the Year" and the "Best new upcoming vocalist". She has collaborated with musicians abroad such as Sheila Jordon, Valery Ponomarev, Avishai Cohen, Tony Pancella, Miles Griffith and Alexa Rodrian.
Since then she has performed in a wide variety of venues, from clubs to concerts, International and National. Some Performance highlights include: the "Blue Note", Birdland, Smalls, and Cleopatra''s Needle (NYC), the "Jazz Blues & Videotape Festival", the "Israeli Festival", the "Symphonic Orchestra of Ra-a-nana", the "Second International Biennale for Contemporary Music" (Israel), Teatro Comunale - Casoli (Chieti), the Jazz Festival in Porto Sant''Elpidio (Ascoli Piceno), with theTony Pancella Trio (Pietro Iodice on drums,Dario Rosciglione on Bass) (Italy), "Thelonious Jazz Bar" (La Paz, Bolivia).
2002 she has recorded her first solo CD entitled "Expanded Interpretations"
2004 her second album is released "Make way for love"
