The first single release from the album, Sending Me Angels, soared to a Top 10 position on the Inspirational Country charts. Three more songs hit Top 5 position on Inspirational radio. Deborah as nominated for 2008 ICM New Artist of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year.
Debuting original work in three songs, co-written with her husband, she opens the door for hearts to give and receive the most important gift – love. When I Call Your Name and Jesus, Savior are praise songs that set the stage for worship. I Love You (and say I do) focuses on the spiritual union of marriage.
The album evokes a variety of emotions – from the light-hearted, Be Blessed, to the dramatic, Anytime. Deborah worked with the finest studio musicians Nashville has to offer, including Mike Schrimpf on keyboards and harmonica; Tim Atwood on keyboards; bass guitarists Matt McGee and Dave Roark; Steve Hinson on steel; and drummers Jerry Roark and Mark Beckett.
Often compared to Natalie Grant, Deborah has a rich, smooth, elegant voice that works the high notes and massages the low ones displaying an almost visible curve in between. Her Name is Deborah crosses over into country, adult contemporary, and praise and worship genres representing the eclectic mix her fans enjoy listening to.
