Kind Words and Lies is the first album released by Christopher S. Carlson and Solace Records since 2003. The first, Warm Minimalism, was his first attempt at the creation of an album. It was self produced, mastered and packaged by Carlson. Times have changed.
Kind Words and Lies began as an idea to create an album without genres. As time passed, it became apparent that the album was going to take on more ambient characteristics, than anything. That said, the music made the decision to create an ambient album...not the musician. The ten tracks on Kind Words and Lies represent the love and inspiration of music and how it reflects through the thoughts of Chris. Each song on this album has a distinct feeling. Feelings that arise through mellow and smooth soundscapes and layered textures.
The album was created, recorded and arranged by Carlson, and mastered by Keith Simpson, of the band, Fleet Echo.
This album is being digitally released, as it seems many enjoy the convenience of digital downloads. There may be, in the future, and opportunity to purchase a physical copy for those who wish to, but this album is now, and will always be a primarily digitally downloadable album, rather than a physical release.
