HCBCUT, which stands for ''Hill Country Bible Church UT,'' is a fast growing, college age church in Austin, TX. The worship music draws hundreds of students and young adults into the church each week. Much of the music that embodies the sound of HCBCUT is original music written by Joshua Tullis. This original music is the staple and the life-blood of the worship at HCBCUT, because it allows the musicians in the authentic community to respond to the movement that the congregation is making on the campus. Three bands make up the ''HCBCUT Bands,'' and play at various times, or in rotation, during the week. Earplugs are offered at the back of the sanctuary for those who are not used to the style, but no apologies are made for the loud, but dynamic worship music that drives and inspires the church. On a typical day, you might find a drummer, two guitarists, a bassist, a singer or two, a violinist and a cellist leading the congregation in truth-centered worship. The music is original and unique, but it is still easily approachable by the average member of the congregation. Many influences are drawn from other worship bands around the country as well as many of the band''s favorite secular music. HCBCUT is not trying to fit into a mold, or repeat history, they are trying to respond to the movement of their church and inspire the lives of the congregation.
