A seismic force is building on the hard rock music scene and it’s destined to shake the New Jersey underground to its core. A Crimson Affair formed in 2006, and these five powerful artists immediately unleashed their music on an unsuspecting public. Their dynamic original songs and take-no-prisoners live act quickly earned them a dedicated following of fans and the band has steadily attracted more of the masses ever since.
The experience begins with pulse-pounding music and captivating lyrics that mine the greatest emotional depths. Each song comes alive in the voice of lead singer Travis Scott. His powerhouse vocals and engaging stage presence whip crowds into frenzies night after night.
Hard hitting transitions and innovative beats by relentless drummer Ryan Vargas, synched with solid bass lines, pumped out with the enthusiasm and endless energy of Andreas Moudatsos, fuel the band’s adrenaline-packed music.
Sophisticated, seasoned guitarist Nunzio Moudatsos strikes awe in the fans with his original riffs and the haunting leads that illustrate the raw feelings created by the band’s songs. The solid power of second guitarist Dan Scott provides the last piece of the puzzle that connects the band into an unstoppable force. Their soaring leads, creative rhythms, roaring bass and crashing drums, inject a sensational message into the minds of everyone in the audience.
In 2007, A Crimson Affair produced a solid 5-track EP entitled Close Your Eyes and Count to Ten. With electrifying songs like “Beyond This Battlefield” and “Dangling on the Canyon’s Edge”, the band quickly showed themselves as a force to be reckoned with on the underground scene. In 2008, they completed the newest eponymous disk spotlighting additional originals, including "Fragile Doll", "24 Karat" and "Ballad for the Fallen". Also in 2008, A Crimson Affair finished in the top three finalists out of 350 competitors in the acclaimed battle of the bands, sponsored by https://www.tradebit.com.
These undeniably talented five young artists are locked, loaded, and ready to pull the trigger on a musical firestorm. A Crimson Affair puts the underground scene on notice: They’ve arrived and this is the reckoning.
"A CRIMSON AFFAIR" EP:
The songs on their current EP are full of slashing riffs, and the sometimes corrosive vocals which help define their songs with strength and wisdom, rather than for effect. A good example is the opening cut, “Fragile Doll.” A story of a femme fatal and the addictive leash she lets you put around your neck, leaving you drowned in unrequited lust that you’ll never break free of. The propulsive rhythm section punctuate the emotional rollercoaster lyrics. The plot has been done before, but the passion and lust are as real as you can get.
Similarly, on “24 Karat” you feel like you’re constantly on the verge of falling in lust, and falling apart trying to see the good in the evil. With historical references to Eve and Cleopatra, A Crimson Affair comes up with one of the best lines ever about wanting what you can’t have: “She knows just what to say to turn predator into prey.”
“Ballad for the Fallen” could have been written about almost any period in time, but like The Bouncing Souls’ “Letters From Iraq” it’s pointedly critical of the United States and our far reaching military grip, and our frustrations with it (hopefully with the new administration it will be rectified). “We are the ones who take you to you grave/ We are the ones who save you/ What are we fighting for.”
“Dear Miller: Thanks for the Memories” is again a story we’ve all heard before about how a passion can easily turn into a debilitating addiction (“I‘m addicted to drugs, sex and rock ’n’ roll/ And it’s taking control of me”), but when honest lyrics are supported a band that’s in it for life, the originality will come out every time!- Phil Rainone, https://www.tradebit.com
