If you grew up listening to Yes, Rush, and Pink Floyd and wonder why nobody makes music like that anymore, you have found your new favourite album. If you weren''t alive when those bands were making records but find yourself looking for something in the dregs of todays "progressive rock bands" that even marginally compares to those records you dug out of dad''s vinyl collection, you too have found your new favourite album.
Here is what some fans have said about "Bound for Nineveh"
Kimberly Danley - These guys are very talented. Tight musically. Not only did I find myself wandering off to many places, I was rocked and ministered to. Reminds me alot of "Rush", "Pink Floyd" and "Yes" with the ever now important Spiritual value. Nice CD and will get the next one. It is so good that Christian music can touch all over and not just "contemporary" style!
Jeffrey - Five stars is just not enough to do this band justice. What can I say? Each of these guys show musical mastery on their instruments of choice; The production is first rate; and if that isn''t enough, the vocal harmonies will bring you back again and again. Everytime you listen you will be their greatest fan all over again. The point of thier music and another notable high point is the way they deliver the message of the gospel. You will listen, and think as the thought provoking tunes keep pouring out of your speakers. Buy two copies so when the first one gets worn out you''ll still be ready to rock....
5.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY!,

Finally, Bound For Ninevah, it''s just what I''ve been waiting for! I grew up with Yes and Rush, and Gideon''s Press has exceeded my expectations! Gideon''s Press has gone far beyond any achievements made by Rush or Yes in that they also fill a Spiritual need in me. My son is 21 and he can''t stop listening either! We both want more! (is there more yet?) When you come to Dallas we WILL be there!
5.0 out of 5 stars amazing cd, October 20, 2000
I came across this CD purely by accident, but it is one of the best CD''s I have heard; a gem that is rarely found. From start to finish, the music is thought provoking, powerful, beautiful, intense and uplifting, and the musicianship is extraordinary. It''s a shame that more people don''t know about this band. These guys just relocated to Austin from the seattle area, and I''m looking forward to seeing them play live.

As the band''s Drum Technician and Live Sound Consultant I have had the privlage to jump on the GP bandwagon quite early and my life will never be the same again from it. From the stand point of honest experience I can say that these three young men are about to Radically Change the way modern music is performed and recieved. They are constantly pushing the limits and boundries of musical theory and composition, with absolutly fabulous results. The music is pleasing to the ear and soothing to the soul, and to coin the classic phrase, "It will leave you begging for more".
5.0 out of 5 stars Song "Pearls to Swine" Rated #1 in September!, September 25, 2000
By "flowermountain" (Seattle, Wa. USA) -
Gideon''s Press was recently rated #1 with their "Pearls to Swine" on the internet radio station https://www.tradebit.com. These guys are hot!!! Keep your ears open to hear of these guys in the future. Their sound is appealing to a wide range of ages from baby boomers to today''s teens. The 70''s "Rush" rock sound influence combined with alternative style singing gives them a wide listening audience. Most of all, the music is attractive to good musicians because of the fine variety and interplay of rhythmic meters and complexity. The way these guys build a song is contagious to the ear! This is definitely "feel good" music!! I have listened a thousand times and want to hear it over and over!

I went to the Gideon''s Press website and found that the CD is currently sold out. :( Thinking to myself that it has to be available somewhere, I searched for it on https://www.tradebit.com. I came across a website with a phone number to call about the CD. I called it and low and behold, I ended up talking to Paul''s mother! :) Mrs. Roraback was more than helpful and directed me to https://www.tradebit.com. She also informed me of the bands recent move to Austin, TX which excited me even more since I live in Lubbock, TX!!! Anyway, the CD is now on order and I can''t wait! GP- You guys gonna be touring West Texas any time soon? :) -CMH

one of the best artist i''ve heard in a long time. the first time i heard them was back in november of 1999. after i heard them i bought their 4 song EP. those four song blew me away. since i bought the EP i was always waiting and wondering when they were going to make a full length album. then one day in june 2000 i went to there website and read that they already had a new album out. so i emailed them and asked where i could get it. they said send us a check and we''ll get you one. but i wanted it now. so i always knew where Paul Roraback worked so i called his work and talked with him. he said just come down and get it from me, so i did. and once again i was blown away. some of the best music i have ever heard. the thing i like the most about this CD is when they just jam for a couple of minutes. i highly recommend this CD.
Must-Have For Progressive Fans, March 12, 2005
By Tom Dickens (Seattle, WA USA)
Wow! One of my favorite CDs to listen to; it gets better each time I hear it. Awesome for their first album! The band, under a new name, has just released their second CD, which is just as good as Nineveh but shows the evolution of their sound. Check out "The Forever Of Now" by "The Illustrated Band". Awesome again!

Beware: their new CD is coming soon and promises to be as excellent, if not better than, Bound for Ninevah. Do you appreciate tasteful guitar work, intricate rhythms, and incredible drumming? Pick this CD up quick. It''s a regret you can''t afford to have.
Aaron Allen (Seattle, WA United States)
Excellent musical composition with very meaningful and deep lyrical style. The message of each song has deep meaning for the Christian soul. Very tight recording. I highly recommend this for any and all listeners. Guitar players, especially, sit down and listen to these riffs and figure them out. They are challenging and very musical. Excellent album.
Eric Rath (Canyon, TX United States)
It never really hit me until I''d had this disc for a few months or so. Had I never noticed that the lyrics were this penetrating? Apparently so. My commute had allowed me to listen to this album over and over and finally the earthy-ness and realness of the lyrics spoke straight to me.
Not only do you know that these guys are Christians, but you know from their lyrics that they have struggles and adversities like the rest of us. Should we dwell on our negatives? Not at all, but the lyrical content seems to allow us to relate our short-comings and trials to theirs and see how they have positively dealt with them: Turning to God.

I bought this CD about 5 months ago and still can''t get enough of it. We''ve been playing it a lot before one of our Thursday night praise and worship services and many people have been asking about it. These guys have been gifted with great talent. I can''t wait till the next one comes out!
S. Cobb "STCobbPiper" (Hurst, TX United States)
I heard about this CD from a friend. I then downloaded Rain Down and Pearls to Swine from their website and was hooked. An awesome group with great talents. True Christians from my conversations with them through e-mail. Great musicians and a great job producing this CD. I highly recommend this to anyone who listens to music!!!
One Word: THISBANDROCKS!, August 3, 2001
Tomasi Akimeta (San Mateo, CA USA)Technically inspiring. Spiritually uplifting. Musically talented... oh, and they ROCK, also. :)
Lyrically, they profess their beliefs in a way that doesn''t bog down the listener with the usual "preachy" hash. Very similar to U2, in that respect, but that''s where the comparison ends. These guys are clearly inspired by Rush, the Police, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin, but they sound completely original. Keep it up, guys!
J. H. Gephart (Richland, WA USA)
I heard these guys perform live at my summer camp a year back, and I thought that they were pretty good, so I bought a copy of their CD. Now, after listening to the CD for a while, I have come to realize how awesome it truely is! All of the songs have a smooth flowing relaxed feel to them (almost like Pink Floyd)and are the kind of thing that you just don''t find in music anymore these days. I strongly recomend this CD to anybody who truely loves music for what it is, and not just for what''s on the top 40.
5.0 out of 5 stars POW! Christian music just got a heavy hitter!, March 28, 2001
By Jason Brandiger (Lubbock, TX) - See all my reviews
I am the worship leader for Rock Solid Youth Church in Lubbock, Texas. I am always on the lookout for new bands that I can tell the guys and gals of our youth church about. Gideon''s Press is at the top of my list. I not only tell the youth, but everyone I come into contact with that enjoys music (which is pretty much everyone). I have been listening to GP''s music for about 7 months, and I haven''t grown tired of it yet. Their music is technical, but powerful. The rhythms, lyrics, and melodies intertwine to form one of the most unique united sounds of ANY band I have ever heard. I could ramble on for a while, but just suffice it to say... these guys are great! Buy several of these CD''s and pass them out to your friends! I can''t wait to hear this band LIVE. Keep up the great work Gideon''s Press, and may God anoint you even more!
