Details:
International recording artist and winner of "Urban/R&B Performer" and "Urban/R&B Album" 2009 (MAMAs) - Felicia Alima releases "Trade" - a maxi-single release about human trafficking, featuring legendary rapper Chino XL and production by DJ Pain 1 (Young Jeezy, Bun B).

The purpose of the release is to raise awareness about the human trafficking epidemic.
"I was inspired to write the song after watching the movie Trade, (hence the title of the
track). I feel like it’s a subject that is rarely spoken about, and it is important to help spread the message to make people aware that human trafficking really does exist... not just in America, but all over the world. If this song can create even the slightest awareness, I won’t feel like my voice is going unheard." – Felicia Alima.

Machete/Universal Latino recording artist Chino XL features on the release.
"Felicia is a very powerful voice in the music community and in the global village. I’m proud to be apart of her latest release tackling this subject. If it helps educate one person enough to stop this from continuing, it served a purpose..." – Chino XL.

Part proceeds from the sale of the maxi-single will be donated to Coalition Against Trafficking in Women (CATW), a non-governmental organization that works to combat human trafficking around the world.
"Felicia is a wonderful example of an artist using her artistry to call attention to the severe human rights violation known as human trafficking. Human trafficking is now one of the world''s fastest-growing human rights violations. We all need to work to end it and CATW applauds Felicia for doing her part!" – Norma Ramos, Esq. (Co-Executive Director) Coalition Against Trafficking in Women.

The poignant song begins with Felicia describing two scenarios – one of a young girl from Mexico who is kidnapped from the street-side, and then sold for auction to the highest bidder; and one of a beautiful Filipina girl who is procured by sex-traffickers, posing as a "modeling agency". She is then smuggled from her homeland and sold into prostitution overseas.

Chino comes in after the second verse with a powerful 16 bars describing a young 16 year old girl who is enticed by an advertisement in a magazine for young women with hopes of Hollywood stardom. The girl runs away from home to pursue her dreams, only to be disillusioned, as the ad is a hoax. She is captured and held against her will, and is
then forced into prostitution. After she is found pregnant, she is then murdered.

DJ Pain 1 (producer of "Don’t Do It" by Young Yeezy), composed two versions of the release – the main mix "Trade", and "Trade (Pain Remix)", which is a heavy 80’s-style Hip-Hop remix.

Other remixes on the disc include "Trade (Latin Mix)", composed by Madison’s Jake Johnson, and "Trade (Euro Mix)", composed by Milwaukee’s Shafi Turner.
