International Chart-breaker and video award-winner Kim Esty has always been known for aiming high and turning dreams into https://www.tradebit.com Toronto native launched her career early, composing songs and performing in bands since high school. Gifted with not only a great deal of talent but also the drive and determination to make it in the the music industry, it didn''t take long for Kim''s many talents to be recognized. Vince Degiorgio (formerly of RCA Records, New York),where he served as VP International A& R signed Kim to his own label, and released a number of her singles, "Your Love Feels Like Dynamite". It was during this time Kim formed a strong friendship and working relationship with with renowned Canadian Artist/Re-mixer/Producer Barry Harris who also created the highly successful group Kon Kan ,then found continued success with "Thunderpuss 2000" Barry Harris and Chris Cox as Remixers.
During that time Kim and Barry collaborated on several tracks together. After Kim''s success with "Make You Mine", then "Summer in the Street" still a crowd please-er, she got her big break and sang 3 tracks for the successful Re-mixers "The Boomtang Boys" for their Debut Cd. "Squeezetoy" was the first release and debuted #1 on Billboard CD Singles and stayed there for 4 weeks,a historical record , at the time Shania Twain and Alanis Morrisette were the only females who managed to debut also at #1.
Kim''s dream came true having a #1 hit single ,winning awards -Best Dance Video/Much Music, and touring. After the success of The Boomtang Boys" Cd ,Kim went on to record her own music with long time music industry friends, songs like "Yummy Yummy Yummy", produced by Colin McMillan,plus others.
Kim at the time wanted her side project she created to come to fruition called "The Kartoon Kids" an homage to all her young fans (an Archie type group of kids), with Kim singing the cartoon-like voices for ages 2-7. Singing and writing all the tracks on both Volume 1& 2, was a great achievement with the help of her longtime musical friend Richard Uglow collaborating.
Kim then had the urge to song write Pop songs once again and released her debut cd title "Variety Show",with first single "You Got Me Movin" penned by Kim and Barry Harris, remixed by Widelife (Rachid Wehbi and Ian Nieman).The track was embraced by Club DJ"s and Kim got her continued support from the industry.
Now Kim is back with her "Best of Kim Esty" cd with tracks over the years, and several new songs, with first release "He Doesn''t Like Me...". Kim was inspired to write a song about her real life experience how "He" was just not attracted to "she", but into "He!". Kim then contacted her friend the ever so successful Rachid Wehbi (who wrote the theme song for "Queer Eye for a Straight Guy") to add his magical talent to remix her track......and he did just that!
