Lewis Hurrell has had quite an extraordinary nineteen years so far on this Earth. Heâs lived in three countries: England, Australia and now America. Heâs had major back surgery with the possiblitly of being paralyzed because of it. He had to go through the struggle of being a son to an alcoholic father who later on died a tragic death. He''s been through more in nineteen years than most people go through in their entire life. However, he''s not mad or upset that all of this has happened so far. He feels very blessed that he was given the opportunity to get through these experiences and to learn valuable lessons from them. It''s through this struggle that has led Lewis to create music that will grow inspire many. Ever since the age of eight, Lewis has been creating music that amazed people. They couldn''t believe such a young boy could produce such a sound.
In 2003 one of Lewis'' friends showed him a program called Reason. It''s a digital music making program that supports midi and does everything the mind can imagine. Lewis became fascinated with the program and a month later he bought both the program and a full sized keyboard that would work with it. His old keyboard had about 500 sounds on it and now with the new one he can plug it into his computer and have access to thousands of unique sounds each with their own quality. With this the program the possibilites were definetly endless for Lewis. Originally he had planned to make background music for films he made, but after getting to know the program he quickly began creating music that would stand by itself. When he sits down to create a song he really doesn''t think about anything but simply sinks into the sound being produced. Sometimes he doesn''t even remember what the notes he played were but can later listen to them and figure it out. For Lewis, music has come naturally, he never took any lessons, all anyone had to do was put an instrument in his hands and he knew what to do with it.
"I want to be remembered for what I have done with the time that has been given to me. I live my life everyday thinking about this. It doesn''t have to be something big or important as long as you''re connecting with people everyday and learning something from each one of them. Itâs these little things in life that make it worth living, and when my time has finally run out I want to leave history behind. I want to be remembered; there isn''t a any doubt in my mind that I won''t."
