Kendrick “TheGift” Stewart was born August 28, 1982 in a town outside of Philadelphia, Pa called Pottstown, Pa. He lived in Pottstown until the beginning of third grade, when he and his family moved to Reading, Pa. It was in Reading where he took his licks, learned some good lessons, and began to develop an interest in becoming the Hip Hop artist you see today. After countless faces, houses, schools, and towns, TheGift is very proud to now call Philadelphia his home. Having moved around a great deal growing up, TheGift had to learn how to move accordingly in different circles by being diverse, open-minded, and versatile. These same characteristics can be found throughout his music.
For TheGift, the love of Hip Hop music began at a young age. From grabbing mics at PAL dances, to rhyming on the back of the school bus; spitting raps has always been something he has enjoyed. As he has grown over the years, his skills as an artist, songwriter, and performer have also grown. TheGift is a Hip Hop artist that stresses the artistic side of his craft. Allowing the music to settle and never over analyzing his lyrics is how he proceeds with penning the next classic. His ability to write any kind of song, and deliver it with an effortless flow, leads to critics and fans alike comparing him to great artist such as: Nas, The Game, & GZA. TheGift had this to say about being compared to other artist, “Man… I appreciate it all. To be compared to Nas is crazy! I just strive to make the best songs, and give people something they can feel and take with them throughout their days and lives.”
TheGift is also a very business minded individual. His ambition led him to found STRICKLY BIZZ Enterprizes, LLC on March 3, 2006. STRICKLY BIZZ is an independent record label based out of Philadelphia, Pa. TheGift founded the label as a platform to build his career, work with other artist, and solidify his movement. At the present time you can catch TheGift pushing his latest project RELENTLESS AMBITION.
