Unlike its predecessor Ducati 851, the Ducati 888 powered with engine with 888 cc increased from 851 cc that the Ducati 851 engine had. With the Desmodromic timing system with 4 valves per cylinder, controlled by 8 rocker arms (4 open & 4 close). Fuel system is supplied by WEBER-I.A.W. The 888 Ducati still continung the Desmoquattro valvetrain concept evolution.

This publication intended for DUCATI Workshops has been prepared for the purpose of helping the DUCATI authorized personnel in the maintenance and repair works of the motorcycles herewith discussed.
