The Gin Goblins formed in 1992 in the dark streets of auld Edinburgh toon, in bonnie Scotland. Years of chaos, shock-horror newspaper front pages, more chaos, and not forgetting finest punkadelic madness followed... leading to… what is it again… ah yes, 2009!.
Members have moonlighted with such punk stalwarts as The Exploited and Oi Polloi over the years, but the Gin Goblins sound like no-one but themselves. And after 15 years can safely say they’re fucking good!
If you need proof, just check out the new CD… this is no one-trick pony band! Stick your punk rock cul-de-sac! This is the sound of newpunkrockmillennium, mixed with ’67, ’77, thankfully no ’87, and a little ’97 (one of the songs is, admittedly, that old!). The end results are then fired off into space!
The range of bands they’ve gigged with over the years pretty much shows where they’re coming from… The Damned, Hawkwind, The Dickies, Subhumans, Action Swingers, Meteors, Motorhead and on and on. It’s ALL good.
