Details:
The highly anticipated Inspirational EP from Kim Yarbrough features three gems that will leave you wanting to hear more from this artist. "Road to Freedom" was written expressly for the film, "The Great Debaters". Though it didn''t make the final cut, Yarbrough and producer Ned Albright decided that it was too good of a ''feel good'' song to sit on the shelf, so it became the first track on the "Dharma 888" EP.

The smash hit, "Give" was written by Yarbrough, Albright and Gia Ciambotti-- three friends sitting around Albright''s piano one evening. Before sundown, they had come up with a crown jewel that would resonate with everyone who hears it.

The third track, "I Am" in its initial rhythmic form, was originally intended as a children''s chant, but as Yarbrough and Ciambotti began to sculpt the cadence, and as the rhythmic interplay became more and more sophisticated and haunting, it became clear that this was a chant not only with transcendent implications, but one that begged for an extraordinary message.

"Dharma 888" features Albright on Wurlitzer and piano, Miles Joseph on guitar, Bill Pittman on bass guitar, and Herman Matthews on drums, and vocal percussion. The background vocals on "Give" consist of a quartet team that Yarbrough has worked with for several years: Ollie Rasbury, Scott People, Lolita Symphony, and Karen Evans. Background vocals on "I Am" feature Yarbrough and Ciambotti, collectively known as the session duo, "Honeytongue". Yarbrough performed all of her own background vocals on "Road to Freedom".

So you ask . . . Why the title, "Dharma 888"?

Dharma (DAR-mah)
An individual''s duty fulfilled by observance of custom or law; the basic principles of cosmic or individual existence; divine law; conformity to one''s eternal duty and nature; to fulfill one''s divine purpose.

888 (August 8, 2008)
The date, or time trigger that marks the opening of the galactic gateway of infinity; the opening of the eighth-dimensional portal, allowing those working toward balance and harmony to integrate maximum Creator light, thereby channeling unlimited potential. An unprecedented opportunity for clearing the pathway to spiritual growth. The release date of this CD.
