When I set out to make this album, I wanted to reflect the rich and uplifting variety of music, spanning cabaret, jazz, torch songs, musical theatre and Argentinian tango, that I have been lucky enough to perform.
I was drawn to the lyric ‘Dance Me To The End Of Love’ as dance was my first passion. The image of surrendering to the ecstasy of love and dancing into oblivion. Wonderful !
This is an album about love and covers just about every aspect of it and even if you are not an incurable romantic as I am, I hope you’ll agree that this is a beautiful collection of songs.
With the help of superb musicians and intimate and evocative arrangements, we have brought together what is essentially quite a diverse selection of songs, with a generous range of moods and colours, and created a cohesive, unique and I hope enjoyable album.
