"A Pill For Every Mood" title came from an illustration his artist daughter (Melissa) created. It was a creative match for this compilation -- the songs will make you laugh, get angry, cry and feel good. This 2005 Songriter''s catalog is a chance for you to hear the songs in his own voice: when you finally hear them performed by another artist, you can say, "I know who wrote that!!!".

Jimmy is deaf in one ear. Makes fun of himself -- not others who have true disabilities -- he advocates for them.

Jimmy inherited his vocal chops from music-minister, conductor and voice-teacher father and soloist mother. He grew up listening to Handel, Zepplin, Mozart, Eric Clapton, Vivaldi, The Jacksons, Al Green, Jimi Hendrix... He grew up singing in the "Dow Family Singers" (he was 7 and sang soprano), choirs, folk groups, coffee houses and gospel groups.

Growing up in San Diego, his creative freedom (and rebellion) started with 2 other choir-boy misfits: Russ & Tim. They sang as "Russ, Tim & Jim" in coffee houses and ran wild on church choir tours across the country :) They sang beautiful songs about love, truth, friendship.

Jimmy finds a way to weave in important messages in his songs. But he does not take himeself too seriously; finding humor in telling stories ---- embellished authbiographies of his ups-and-downs:

"I think I''ll take a Dog Sled to Alaska...
I''m gonna find me an Eskimo Queen.
She''ll teach me to rub her nose just right...
I''ll...tttttteach her somethin'' she''s never seen!!"

- Rockin'' Chair Blues, Jimmy Dow

DEDICATION NOTE FROM JIMMY

This is Dedicated to "Miss Ali" (in "Miss Ali Blues" - now, Mrs. Alison), My father - Rev. Robert G. Dow, Mother Dottie Dow (you should have heard their duets), sisters: Judy, Jan, Jean (get it, the 4 "J''s", singing family), my children - Melissa, Geoffrey, Lillian and to Cyndi Garofalo (my ex-Wife). Thanks to my 2 best friends growing up who saved me from being scared of my own shadow - Russell Cederberg, Tim Halley. I miss you guys!

My committment to you all is to be a change agent and advocate; reaching out and loving those closest to me first. If I accomplish that in my remaining years (hopefully, a few more), then the "washing the bullshit down" years were worth it :)

- Jimmy Dow

"If you find me feedin'' https://www.tradebit.comase turn my face up to the sky
And leave me be...watchin'' the moon roll by.
Whatever I was...you know it was all because...
I''ve been on the town...
Washin'' the bullshit down

The watchman''s out...kickin'' your dreams about
It feels so good...knowin'' the watchman''s gone
It''s like a song...
Knowin'' the watchman''s gone"
