James Spraggins II, affectionately known as PJ, developed a love for music at an early age while growing up in Bessemer, Alabama. Like many musicians from the South, PJ formed his musical roots in the church. After graduating with a degree in Broadcast Communications, PJ made his home in Birmingham where he currently lives with his wife. During his professional career, PJ has had many opportunities to perform with numerous artists playing different styles of music. Those artists include Randy Owen (Alabama), Byron Cage, Dorenda Clark (The Clark Sisters), Ronnie Laws, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Ike Stubblefield, Eric Essix, Joey Summerville, Melvin Miller, Tekneek, William Green (Magic Dream), Toni Redd, Katrina Willis, Kelley Oneal, and Maria Howell among others. PJ''s studio credits consists of works with Tekneek (Joyride) on which he played drums and wrote the track Sweet Nita, Eric Essix (Abide With Me) drums. PJ continues to make his mark on the international music scene. He is currently performing with many of the artists mentioned above and has just released his first solo album titled "The Light of Day". This new album is a collection of songs written by PJ that consist of simple, catchy melodies that are sure to set the mind at ease. So, sit back and take time to enjoy "The Light of Day".
