Unruley students in a small town are so bad that they runoff every teacher thats tried to teach them. The newest school teacher arrives in town. Being a women, which was unheard of in those days, the parents don't think she will be able to handle the unruley students. She convinces them to give her a chance. On the first day in school the students won't listen to her until she shoots a ball out of the air thats being thrown between students, which gets their attention real quick. One little girl, who takes after her mother, starts a rumor that could get the teacher run out of town.
